Hi,
Am leaving for the Cape in two week and will need to access Email and Internet via my work Laptop a couple of times, does anyone know if there is Public Internet
acess in
Weipa and
Bamaga?

There is dial up available using their equipment at the caravan
park in
Weipa. VERY slow and expensive, I think it was $6 per half hour.
Probably not effective for your purposes.
I am not sure about
bamaga, try the caravan
park in Sasia (think that is spelt incorrectly). Loyalty beach caravan and
camping ground has net access, but not really for public use. Steve just looked up this site for us for road conditions and printed out the relevant page for us in his own time. I don't think he lets people surf as it is the work computer.
We did not see a "net cafe" as such.

I could not find any last week.
Suggest you get CDMA phone and associated modem. This will work in most
places including
Bamaga.

a couple of years back used the internet at
weipa library. satelite and a lot faster than dial up.
