Hi All,

I hav been wanting to build a trailer for all my camp gear for towing behind the Rav for a while now and wanted to put Rav wheels on it ( never have to mant spares ). Approached a few wreckers and they wanted $150 - $200 per rim and tyre....making my trailer expensive!! Low and behold checking out ebay the other night and there was a set of 4 steel rims and tyres on there...just picked them up for $30 :-) I am a happy camper....So to speak!!

Know how you feel! Some wreckers have an unreal idea of value of rims and tyres. I wanted to buy a spare Nissan 16" split rim, and they wanted about $250 just for the rim!! Went to a tyre place and bought a new one for $30. I earlier argued with the wrecker that the price was about $200 more than a tyre place, but he was unmoved. Good luck with the trailer!
Cheers, Gerry

Joc, are you talking about the alloy GU rims? they are $900+ from nissan, so $250 used is cheap.

Oh that's a terrible place that ebay.... I work 5 days a week to cover my wifes expenses on this place.
I am sure I would have to work 10-12 days a week if she bought it at retail prices though so maybe I shouldn't complain too much.
