Is this still on? There was a link on the 4WD monthly site that referred to the page on Explore Oz. But I cant find any reference to it here on Explore Oz?

Pretty sure it was cancelled due to lack of support.

Hi Coyote,
I just did a search on here for the great outback clean-up and apparently it has been cancelled due to lack of numbers.

Coyote,
I'd guess that maybe publicity was the problem. Not sure who was organising it.

The clean-up Australia Day - usually first weekend in March is well supported by clubs.
Also friends groups do a lot of good work late in the season to clean up the deserts.
Must say I haven't seen a huge problem with rubbish in the outback - but I admit that I don't often go to the well frequented places.

Cheers
Phil

Clean up Australia is supported by volunteers, with no fees charged. I think that the large sum they wanted to be involved with the outback clean up would have been off putting for most. I know it was for me.
Cheers
Paul:-)
