Can anyone give me some figures, fuel usage mainly, before and after putting a turbo on, and the cost as well thank you.
Cheers Bruce.

Bruce,

I can!

fuel usage before turbo was about 14-16L/100k's highway when the truck was loaded with a family of four and camping gear, but no trailer. With the turbo, and the Cavalier Trailer on the back, (tare 1040kgs) still the family of four and necessary camping gear, 14.1L/100k's. the biggest difference is I can drive it WITH the trailer on as though it was an unladen Patrol WITHOUT a trailer...... much much better.

My kit was from Turbo-Glide in NSW, we freighted it up and I had it fitted by a local mechanic, (the guy that sourced the kit for me) then had my diesel mechanic "do" the injector pump, full service, tune the turbo, supplied and fitted VDO pyrometer and boost gauges, total cost a little over $5000.
It has made the GQ an absolute pleasure to drive in comparison to before.

Hope this helps!

cheers
Brian

Photos taken up in the Territory when I lived in Darwin, about 1980, cousin tried to see if his Nissan could swim in about 8 foot of fast flowing creek. We got it out the next day and in two hours of doing so had her going again. A photo of her going through the creeek when it had dropped about 5 feeet.

on my old patrol (94 6 wheeler) had a tubo glide from wollongong fitted it saved me a bit of fuel if cruising but was up a gear on the same hills but if you worked it hard ,it could drink a LOT more.
