Hi Rodeo Riders,
I’ve just joined the fraternity by purchasing a 2004 Crew Cab and wish to put
seat covers on the back
seat to try and keep the dog hairs out (no I don’t keep the wife in there). To put the covers on I need to remove the
seat which seems a little tricky. I’ve found the nuts under the
seat and the pivot point clips at the base of the backrest but it is still attached to back of the cab. Does anyone know how to get this back
seat out,
Thanks Wayne

I put some Michelle sacs on a new Hilux recently, admitedly they were a pain to fit however I didn't have to remove the rear
seat.? Are you sure you need to remove it.? They have really made the rear
seat hard, my kids hate it but the dog loves it..! LOL

The sashes on the covers need to be tied half way up the back rest so the neatest way is to remove the back rest but if that is too hard I could bodgy it up. Actually I thought about Michelle sacs covers, its good to hear you are happy with them.

I have an earlier dual cab, this works for me....
Remove the 2 screws on the face of the passengers foot
well, 1 each side, remove the
seat. Looking under the lower end of the
seat back are 2 more screws, remove these as
well.
Holding onto the top edge of the seatback near the head rest push down and pull out, it "should" come loose from the support. Then lift the seatback out and fit the
seat cover.
Be aware that the cover may have to be cut where the 2 locateing lugs slip into the retainers on the rear wall.
Hope this helps.
Oh and they are an utter Bast**d to get back in properly as
well.
Have fun.........

Hi Wayne,
I had a 2001 model Dual Cab Rodeo, at the top of the Backrest in the middle there should be a little Tag that you can pull up, this relaeses the catch and the backrest will pivot forward,in
mine the Jack and wheel spanner were behind the
seat.
Cheers Rossco.

Hi Rossco,
Well who's a dunce then, I've just been out to the vehicle and given the little tab another good yank(I had tried before but obviously hadn't had my weeties) and
hay presto the
seat folds forward. What makes this even worse is that SWMBO said "Why not just pull the little tab", nar says I,that doesn't work. Thanks for your help, Wayne
