why is it at least 2.5 years ago at work were paying $12 inc gst for 6 ltrs of engine oil.
then we started to buy 205ltr drums at $350 a drum inc gst.
today we ran out of oil in our drum so had to buy some from bursons.
cost today was $12.50 inc gst for 6 ltrs.
why has the price of a barrel of oil doubled and fuel nearly doubled in the last few years yet engine oil prices havnt changed?

Because the oil/fuel companies are thieveing bastards and know we need more fuel than engine oil.

350 bucks for 205 litres and 12 bucks for 6 litres????
Must be cheap chit.
I pay around 700 bucks a 205 in my workshop but I do buy the latest quality and best you can get before synthetic.
Depends what car it is going in though.
I just don't compromise on quality oils. I love the stuff.

Blending oil is like making a cake. It is all made to a recipe to obtain certain ratings but to answer your question I use either Gulf Western as in the racing car sponsor or
Caltex. Depends which rep is nicest to me when I need to place an order.
Hope this helps
