BJ or FJ 40 Guard mounted air cleaners

I've seen some 40 series with air cleaners mounted outside the engine bay on the front mud guard. Just wondering can somebody tell me was this standard and where could I get one.

Q2: Usually a Donaldson dry paper type filter housing, obtainable at a specilised filter outlet. Where do you live? Might be able to give a heads up on some outlets.
