G'day
I have done topic searches for this and cannot find anything on this forum regarding this product "Ultraseal". Its been around for some years now (1979-80)

Question 1: Have any of you used this product?
Question 2: If so what are your thoughts regarding it?
Question 3: Would you use it again?

If you belive the speil from the makers it will save you from having a puncture ever again. It is claimed to RESEAL a hole instantly (up to 6mm or so). Thats a big hole to instantly reseal. It also claims to dissipate heat faster thereby reducing tyre wear and related heat damage. The Video shows a 5mm gun shooting 6 rounds into a tyre whithout deflating, as well as driving over a plank of 20+ nails without defating the tyre. They also claim to prevent air loss through rims etc.

Question 4: If it sits in the tyre in a liquid state how does that work when we reduce tyre pressure for whatever reason, will some of that liquid block the valve if a small leak develops there??

Question 5: As i am guessing that we would have to be sure our valves are at the top of the rim when lowering pressure, what if some liquid is resident in the stem???

Cant wait for input on this one

One of my operators on my bobcat was getting 2 punctures a week whilst working on the M7. At $35 per puncture I was talked into a similar product called reseal.
I simply put 1 litre into each tyre and for the life of those tyres (7 months) I did not get a single puncture. The new tyres I put on in May also has not been punctured. The manafacturer recomends if a nail goes into the tyre not to pull it out. Just leave it there. I was told by the supplier it is rated to 40 to 50kms an hour. It is not cheap and if I remember rightly I could only purchase a 20 litre drum and cost almost $400
I do not know why it is only rated to 50k's but as there is only a litre spinning in the wheel I cannot see why you would need to deflate the tyre with the valve up the top. But I never had the need to deflate the tyres for the job site.

I seem to remember some people around Alice looking at this stuff. It works, but the problem is wheel balance. OK for things like bobcats and tractors. Don't think I would want it in a vehicle at highway speeds.

why wouldn't you use it at hwy speed as long as the tyre/rim was balanced when the product goes in it will distribute around the tyre more evenly the faster you go
