My daughter phoned me tonight from York after just finishing the powerline trek so it is definately open .Apparently there are tracks around the more challenging sections if you want that option. One of the vehicles in their group got bogged and filled with a bit of water inside the doors but all ads to the fun as they all had a good time.

I dont know if the greenies or anyone else can close it.
The track underneath the powerlines is used by Wester Power for maintenance

A couple of months back there were 4 car loads of Rangers and Water Corp personnel in the area. We were told by one ranger that it is ok to drive the PLT and the formed gravel roads but the bush tracks are now off limits, heavy fines would be issued to anyone caught.

Forum members on Perth4x4.net are organising a clean up day this Saturday the 29th along some sections of the track, there will be a sausage sizzle with any money raised going to Telephon. It is practically the last track close to Perth that remains open so the clean up is a good way to help keep it open.

Cheers
Brad
