Very disappointing! What a day!
We travelled 550kms (return) only to find it was combined with the huge 2006 Farm Fantastic Show. For starters, it should have been advertised as such.
And then the 16+ caravan/
camp-trailer (listed) exhibits were scattered throughout the acres of show-grounds; consequently we only found about six and not even the ones we wanted.
As for a 'Caravan &
Camping, 4WD, Fishing & Boating Show' each category should have been grouped and exhibited in sections as were the animals, some farm machinery etc.
Maybe their way disperses the crowds more evenly, likewise potential buyers too!
And the programme sheet was useless unless you were a local & knew the layout plus it was printed so small it could hardly be read!
And to top it all off, it was wet and cold and miserable; cost $10 p/p to enter...no snr. discounts on Sat., only Fri. (yeah, 'cos Sat draws a bigger crowd!) What a rip-off!
Maybe we just had a 'bad hair day, but feel so much better now!...amazing what a whinge can do! Thanx for listening!
Anybody else enjoy it as much as we did?

What makes me laugh is the complaints about "no seniors discount" ,,
where and when does it cost a vendor less $ to provide an item or service just because a person has reached a "senior" age ,,the cup of tea / bum on seat/ is the same cost to the vendor if your 49 or 69.

If you got a senior card why not use it that is what is there for.Not every one can afford the high price you have to pay for some of the things you want to see,if i think it is too dear i won't pay, even with a card.
JJ glad you enjoyed a good day out any way.

no.one.
Drive 1000 ks? now that would be silly...
The griping is not about the distance, but the misleading info.
A Caravan &
Camping Show should be just that or advertised as otherwise!
Alloy c/t.
We have a seniors/pension card for a reason and worked bluddy hard to earn it. A dollar is a hard earned dollar in anybody's books!
Would like to see JH or any other pollie survive on an ordinary o/a pension!
Zuks...
Good to know we're not alone! Sounds like there is some other grizzle rs's around though!
Yep, did have my senior card and ask, but was told "not today, only on Friday".
Have never heard of this before!
Oh
well, as they say, a bad days fishing beats a good days work!

JJ ,you say you have worked bloody hard to get your seniors card ,so be it ,that still does not justify the card in any shape or form ,,just because you have reached a certain age does not mean the vendor of a product or service should forgo his/her hard earned $ ,,pray tell me why u should get a product cheaper just because of your age ,,,its simlpe really ,if you cant afford it dont buy it.

If we need something we buy it, pension discount or not! But that was only a passing comment, not the issue!
The issue was just our opinion and disappointment in general, especially after contacting two c/t companies to confirm their advertised C&CS4WDF&B venues & dates. Found that the Nambour venue had been cancelled, but not deleted from their listings, and the Caboolture one was said to be held at the Caboolture
Show Grounds, which are north of the town off the Beerburrum Road...NOT way out Whoop Whoop and combined with a Field Day!
'ave a nice day!

Hope you don't ever retire dude and require free hospitalisation or the likes,
Coz you will get no sympathy from me or many others who are MEMBERS of this site when you cry out for a little price relief or help after you have worked all those years - paid your taxes (you do don't you?) and given to the community to help
young (maybe even your own) kids get a decent schooling and the hundreds of other things that the older people like us have done for the likes of you out of the goodness of our hearts.
I suppose you don't even give up your
seat for the elderly or even help them across the road because they don't deserve it in your eyes.
Get a life and care for people instead of your own interests after all we are Australian...
Double Grrr!!!

Crazy Dog...(you can say that again!)
And excuse me for breathing!
Where the hell did all that crap come from? What did I ever do to you?
And who's asking for handouts, free hospitalisation, price relief or help from you or any other 'member'? What's all that got to do with me &
mine having a bad hair day at the show?
You've lost it mate. Maybe you should get a life.
And just because you're a member doesn't give you the right to be rude or insulting!
Visitors are allowed to voice an opinion as
well as anyone else!
If you speak to your male 'visitors' as you do the older female, you won't have my sympathy when they knock you into next week!
Otherwise I have nothing more to say!

CrazyDog .,your signature says it all , you are naturally stupid ,,all i said was that someones age should have no bearing on a price of a service or item , if the "price" of items were to be linked to age what in your learnerd opinion would be the "right" price for a lt of milk ,how about $1 for every year of age upto say 50 then down again by $1 for every yr after ,,dont like that much eh ? or would you prefer price to be linked to income perhaps ,the more you earn the more you pay for the same item , no thanks !!

Settle fella's, settle, Ok, JJ, I think you owe Crazy Dog an appology mate, if you look, you will find his follow up is under Alloy c/t reply not yours, think you will find his whole follow up was directed at Alloy c/t, not you, he was sticking up for you.
As for Alloy being a troll, not quite, he comes up with some good info on a regular basis to help people out and just looks at things from a different angle than the rest of us at times. Ok, so he comes on with an attitude at times but at least he says what he thinks, maybe he has a stessfull day at work some days :-)))
Got to admit I agree with Crazy dog, pensioner deserve to be given a break. Alloy, I think most times the pensioners discount relates to admission fees, bus and train fares and the like, when it comes to actually puchasing stuff, ie. cup of coffee, milk etc. or for a SERVICE, like getting their car serviced or some such thing, they pay full price like the rest of us. Don't think that's all that unfair is it ?

Thanx Pezza for sorting that lot out!
As you will see below, as soon as I realised my HUGE mistake, I did send Crazy an apology, in REPLY instead of FOLLOW-UP (& I'm not blonde!).
This
forum is a little community and all should respect each others opinions... I feel I know many of the forumites, and as I said once before, to mouth off on here could be embarrassing should we cross paths along the trak seeking each others company!
Cheers
Oh, and Crazy Dog, Sorry; forgot to say thanx for being on my side. Thanx!

Dear Crazy Dog,
So sorry for directing my last reply to you. I feel such a dill! (no comments please!).
Having your reply follow
mine, threw me right out. I was trying to fathom out where you were coming from after putting Alloy c/t's dribble in the ignore basket.
I withdraw all I said in haste. Please forgive.
I can now see how so many simple little light hearted posts on this
forum get twisted into (not always) nasty debates; and never on the intended topic.

thankfully we saw the
signage this afternoon (too late) otherwise we would have dropped in and checked it out. Sitting in
Maryborough as we speak, i'm glad that i didn't try to convince the missus to take a waste of a detour.....
Unfortunately us 32YO's don't get the same benefit as some ;-)
Thanks JJ

G'Day JJ,
Yep I went to the Farm Fantastic but only cause a mate of
mine was anexhibitor ther and had a coupla free passes - I wouldn't have paid $10! ;-) Still had a nice walk around and enjoyed my day - plenty of bargains to be had, so I'll know for next year. I'm a local so I only drove 15 mins to get there but I can appreciate your frustration. I didn't see the advertising for Caravan and
Camping show etc but then again I don't pay too much attention to much stuff! That would've been annoying! Shame you didn't like it!
Can I just say one thing but to Alloy - mate the Seniors discount is a good thing because it's damn near impossible to survive on the pension. Sounds like you just got a mouthful of sour grapes cause you don't get a discount! :-P
Righto lads - I'm off!
Cheers
Scoey!

Just thought I would let you know that the event is called "Farmfest" could be the reason why there was the odd tractor and a limited amount of
camping gear.
Regards.
