Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone knew any tracks where you can drive in the snow. Guessing most mountains would be off limits at this time of year, but would like to go camping in the snow ( why x-country ski when i have a perfectly good diesel) and would like to know if anyone knew any spots.
Im located in Victoria, an dreaming of a white Christmas ( in July)

Any help would be appreciated

Mt Skene is a possibility this time of the year.

You are missing a vital ingredient at the moment. SNOW! Skene would be a good if there was some.

No natural snow in Victoria. Go to Tassis you may find some.

Gaday no name. The most reliable snow to drive in is as mentioned Mt Skene but unfortunately every man & his dog likes to play up there & have seen as many as 200 cars on a weekend which as you can imagine is absolutely bedlam with 4x4s bogged blocking the road making progress near impossible. A little bit of road rage is slipping in too from the frustrated drivers.
If you wait for snow to fall below 1000 metres there are more options including from Marysville to Mt Matlock accross to Mt Selma as well as the Thompson Valley road.
Presently there is no snow anywhere that you can drive on & forecasts for the next week is only for snow showers on the higher peaks. We'll all have to wait :-)
Cheers Craig.........

I heard some crazies sometimes actually build igloos up at Mt Skene ... good trip that one, only downer was seeing those clowns come out of the side track near camp in that mad looking Kingswood Overlander.

Mount emu near Tawonga if it falls low enough! We often have a snow drive there every year. Mt Pinnabar area always produces a snow drive.

Cheers

I'm looking at Mt Emu now through my window. I've only seen a dusting on it this year.

It has been a lean year so far. Did any fall last night or was it rain? I am in
Wodonga.

I dont have a first hand report but the carpark was wet so I assume more rain than snow.
