I'd strip most of the goodies out of it and sell them seperately. The dealers won't give you any extra for them and they would have cost you many dollars. Check out the www.redbook.com.au site for some valuations.

Its a joke isnt it , $2/2.5 thou for a vehicle with acc as such , wonder sometimes if knowing a good car thief would be of benifit and "collect" the insurance ,, then again thats one reason why our insurance is so exy.

Well that sorta shocks me, but doesnt.

1) he has to make money on it, he would only get $5k TOPS on a good day with the wind behind him downhill on tow. Not many people would want a high klm rig, even though it may be good for another 100k klms
2) its a petrol GQ - look at fuel prices...
3) high klms... biggest killer
4) see 2

Accessories dont mean bleep to a car forsale, its crap but true, unless you find someone who KNOWS what they want.

As said, strip it back to a bare stock truck, and you will have better chance of selling it.

Get a few grand on Ebay for the accessories.

Ive split it into 2 halves, first half I would strip and sell.. second half you couldnt really.
+ you went to Toyota dealer, would be same if you walked into nissan dealer with a 500000klms 60/80 series...

Out of interest, even though your lookin for a cruiser, go to a Nissan dealer, see what they offer you.

FWIW, Ive seen 250,000-300,000klm GQ Petrols go for $5k in great condition.

--------------- I'd sell ------------------------------------

I reckon I would consider payinmg about 5 grand for a 1993 patrol.........but it would have to be a good one.

Go and have a look at what people are and more importantly what they are NOT getting for there fourbees on Ebay.

5k will be your upper limit. Do what the others have said and sell the goodies and still get the 5. As for 2-3k tell him to stuff off....... or if u love the car sell it privately.

..
So you would you pay 5 grand for a 14 year old truck with half a million clicks on it?
Thousands wouldn't.

Cheers

Hi Truckster
I was hoping fpr 7-8000, but it knew the k's would knock it back. I just wanted some realistic numbers so when I get to serious negotiation I know where i stand, again thanks for the opinions

greetings, sorry to hijack your post, I was getting concerned about my 95GQ 4.2efi dual fuel with 322,000k's on it until I saw yours with 500,000. Have you had to do any major work on it? Mine too was country k's and well serviced, gas fitted at 190,000. Just wondering how long these things can go for
Cheers

No worries, its pretty cold now anyway
I replaced a clutch at ~260,000, radiator core ~320000 water pump ~350000, altenator ~500,000, nothing on the drive train, front bearings (forgot when, somewhere around 350000) Think that is all the major stuff? I would have to check the service records to be sure, but it is still pretty reliable, just a little long in the tooth and a little dusty
