I'm about to fit new rubber to my Pajero - this time around I'm putting 265/75R16's in LT construction. Been quoted BFG's at $250, Kumho's at $240, or Cooper ATR's at $303. I'm tempted to go for the BFG, but the Coopers seem to get more thumbs up lately. Any recent experiences? My usage is probably about 70%on-road and 30% fairly serious off-road, and including caravan towing.

I am a Cooper man, I have them and like them, about to go onto my second set, but if the BFG’s AT’s are $250 and the coopers are $303 for the ATR I would go the BFG AT’s as hard as it is to say, being a Coopers user, I just don’t think the ATR’s are worth $303 a tyre.
I have the AT’s now and am stepping up to the ST’s as the ATR’s tread pattern looks too soft for a AT tyre it’s almost a HT, IMO.
Don’t overlook the Kumho’s I have heard OK things about them, but for an Extra $10 per tyre I would go with a
well-dusted 4WD tyre like BFG
Cheers.

If you're going 75 profile, the STs are available in LT for a more aggressive tread. The 70 profile standard on Pajeros doesn't leave much choice other than BFGs in LT, but I must say I'm happy with my BFGs.

90,000 km on and my BFG,s are still goin strong 265/75/16 most of which tow a 2 ton plus van so for
mine go the BFG,s but if your goin to tow put extra pressure in as
mine are now up to 45psi cause the edges are a little thin still plenty in centre.
