Hi Brian

I have front and rear ARB lockers in mine and they have never let me down and I love them. I can't comment on the other brands as I have only had experience with the ARB one but they make a big difference

I was with you Roachie, thinking that the front would be enough in our Patrol's but after seeing Troll's Patrol in action up at Landcruiser park it is tempting to opt for both when I finally get around to fitting them.

Cheers, Trevor.

Out Troopy has front and rear Lock rights. they have been in for more than 5 years and travelled well over 200 000 kms without a hint of problem.

Our GU has just had a TJM Prolocker fitted in the last month. It works! (bit too early to give a long term opinion...)

cheers

Hi Brian

An often asked question with lots of opinions.

Do you mean Detroit or just an auto unlocker in general ?

As series IV detroit are about the same cost of Airlocker and
both are around twice the price of the Lockright type of unlocker.

The detroit is a lot smoother in its action and its harder to
make a decision between detroit/airlocker than Lockright/airlocker.

If general the airlocker wins because you can have it on or off
and hence avoid the unlockers understeer effects that are prone to
causing loss of traction on slippery surfaces.

Brian, I have a lockright in the front of our Patrol and its great, a little heavier than the normal steering when its in but not a problem. If you have the moola go for the airlocker, its the bees knees I reckon. The LSD in the back should do the trick there in a Patrol at least. Tojo's not so good.

Hi guys
thanks to all for your input , and have made a decision as to what will suit me best and in future will have a look at archives before I post. Last night I posted the question and then looked at archives '' sorry''. I will go for the ARB air locker as already have the compressor to suit

Not everybody is worried about answering the same question more than once as many people's opinion changes on a particular product as they get more use out of it or the product completely fails after a certain amount of time or whatever.
I look at the archives too but still like "up to date info" on a lot of things and to do this, it means asking the same questions more than once.

Cheers, Trevor.

I have a Lokka on the front of my GU and it's fantastic, One thing I found is i also have traction when I turn corners, I know a few guys that have the ARB airlocker andthere sometimes get stuck or loose traction when they turn the air locker off. both are great and of course it all depends on the car and driver. I still have the auto front hubs but I will change that one day.
If you can drive the same type of car with different lockers.
