Is there any beneifits on fitting a larger exhaust system with mandral bends to a 2.8L turbo diesel rodeo. i.e power and fuel consumption?

If other vehicles give the indication, Ray, you will improve the power, but when you have it will you drive it harder and wreck the economy?

Put a 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust system on it will give 10 to 15% more power and up to 1 to 1.5 kilometers to the litre. Add an intercooler and put it on a dyno have the fuel rate played with and you will be surprised how much grunt those 2.8s will put out.
Cheers Bruce.

Basic rule of internal combustion engine - improving it's breathing is
well worth while (this means both in and out).

i had a jap import mu with the same engine as the rodeo. i had a 65 mm (not mandrel bent) system with free flowing muffler and the injector pump was tweaked, gained 7 hp at the
wheels and extended my fuel range about 50 km per
tank. make sure you replace the system all the way back to the turbo and invest in a new flexy joint the same diamater. i paid $380 for the complete system all stainles steel. made a huge difference with overtaking. ate all other diesels for dinner.
