Hi everyone,
I have a customer who needs your help!
He would like to know how to transfer maps from Natmap Raster 2005 to his PDA. He has the correct software (CE codes and OziExplorer CD) and instructions, but for some reason it is not working properly.
Can anyone assist further as I have not used this product myself and I am unsure what to advise.
Thanking you all in advance.

Hi,

Doesnt he need the OZF2 converter tool from the OziExplorer website?????

Convert the image file and *.map into OZF2 files for OzeCE, this is the method for the earlier raster maps anyway....:)

The new file format for the PDA and Ozi is OZF3 and all that needs happen os convert them and copy to the PDA and tell Ozi where to look, and presto!

Contrary to other advise- there is NO NEED to convert the Natmaps to ozf for PDA usage...
Just dump the .ecw AND the corresponding .map files required into
CE OziExplorerCE>Maps (via OziExplorer PC/ActivSync).
I assume there is a SD card (there would have to be if maps are required)- then under File>Configuration>Map & Data files......
SD card|CE OziexplorerCE|Maps and tick active...

Just a follow up to my previous..I'm assuming the devive is a HP iPAQ..if so

"These image formats are supported - ozf2, ozfx3 and ecw (Note : Because the code libraries available only suit the ARM cpu the ECW support is only available for PDA's with ARM cpu's.) "

Meaning- the ECW file don't need conversion (for the ARM cpu)

Most??? HPs have the ARM cpu..therefore no need to convert.

If it is the new prem DVD raster maps, it maybe due to the size, they will need to do it in parts or have a huge card

I needed a 2 gig card in my ipod but plenty of maps to choose from!! The Natmap "Mosaic" map runs ok off the card but it is noticeably slower and BIG! Tried to convert it to OZF format but after 24 hours of processing I gave up. It's now a toss up whether to use the Rasters instead (and only those I need) and add all the CFA maps which are good for the HC. Should about soak up all the remaining storage. Decisions, decisions.
