We're heading off tomorrow night after work and can't wait.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me with my questions - I've really appreciated all the input.

We're heading up to Alice Springs then west to Papunya and on the Gary Junction Road ....ending up at Marble Bar. From there we're off to Broome, the Gibb River Road, Mitchell Falls, Kalumburu back to Drysdale River Station then to Kununurra, the Bungle Bungles, Halls Creek, Tanami Track and Alice Springs. From there out to Kings Canyon, Ayers Rock then back home via Coober Pedy etc.

It would be nice to catch up with any of you who are out travelling in the same areas...White/Silver Prado and camper trailer...Viv & Ray....

Happy and safe travelling to everyone

Viv

Have a great time. You'll see lots and meet lots of really nice travellers along the way. Don't forget to take as many photos as you can, you can't really take too many.

Thanks,

Camera and heaps of films packed (yes, I'm still using films!!). One day will get a digital camera.

I'll say hello at Well 33 for you and Dave. I can't wait to get out into that country and see it for myself!

Thanks for all the help you've given me.

All the best

It would be great to catch up with you. We're in Broome 9th to 12th August then go to Derby for their rodeo on 13th August. We'll be on the Gibb River Road by the 15th August.... Vic No Plate TRZ 099. Exploroz sticker on back of White/Silver Prado.

Look forward to seeing you. If we don't catch up, I hope that you have a great trip.

Viv, there's a bloke in Coolgardie who runs a food place who used to be a rodeo rider for 15 years...rekkons he was very lucky. What a way to make a dollar !

I LOVE the "new" digital cameras. Used the other kind for 30 years. Now I can just point and shoot and get a perfect pix almost every time. No mucking around with processing etc. Each to his own, but they have revolutionized my trip records. And I can see what I've taken at the touch of a button. And burn em straight onto a CD etc. Don't know if you've had a good look at em but if not , they are the bees knees for travelling.

Yeah, the rodeo game is pretty tough. I enjoy going to them....really enjoy the time events...roping etc and I'd love to be able to ride like those women in the barrel racing!!

I'd love a digital camera, just the dollars stopping me at the moment!! I've got a Canon Eos 1000 FN with a 300mm zoom lens...so I can get a digital canon camera that is compatible with my lenses and that will cut the costs down a little. One day soon.

Hello John,

Thanks. It's going to be a good feeling to head off tomorrow. Last time we talked we were hoping for the rain here..well we got an inch and now the crops are all in. Hopefully there will be some follow up rain while we're away.

Best wishes,

Viv

I hope you get more rain up there Vivien. If you don't it would be a pretty hopeless situation. Talked to a friend at Maryborough this morning on my way to Melbourne town and they apparently had two inches. We get hazy days but some drizzly ones too.
