Apparently there will be a celebration there shortly. Does anyone have any info ? I was unaware until I ran into some travellers who will be attending.

Giles was set up in the 1950's to provide weather observations for the British atomic tests so it's probably the 50th anniversary. There's nothing about it on the BOM site but you could phone or email Giles.

You would be correct Stephen, it was set up in 1956 to get weather reports for the Emu and
Maralinga atomic tests.

So they would be celebrating their 50th year of operation. Hope everyone has a great time, only been there once and enjoyed it.
