Big Al.
And the winner is !!!!!!!!!!
79 series Cruiser.... The new addition arrives mid august. Thanks to this
forum I was able to make an informed decision on the vehicle that would suit us best ( plus the fact that my son would disown me if I did not get the Toyota) He can't wait to start adding bits on to it. The slide on camper has been ordered and should be on for our Xmas break. We will miss the SWB maverick, and hope the cruiser will be as reliable as it was.
Thanks ALL for your input into this great site.

What slide on unit are you getting Al?? And good choice of vehicle (I couldn't afford the Yota and besides it wouldn't fit under my garage's entrance (bugga - excuse the pun).

Hi Allan ,
I just had a look at the Innovan site after you mentioned it . A wonderful looking CT or slide on . Do you know how dust proof it is ?
Thanks ,
Willie .

Willie,
It has a dust seal all the way around but I don't expect it will keep out all of that
RED CENTRE powder. As long as we are dry I can cope with some dust.

drove to melb to sell it. Less than $200 for gas 90 km all the way. Not bad for 16 year old truck with 280000

Good stuff Al,
Mid August is pretty good - many have had to wait 3 months, but I think many of them have ordered the diff locks. They are a great truck with plenty of aftermarket stuff available.
That Innovan website is awesome. Looks like the RollsRoyce of traytop campers.
I suppose the spare tyres will need a rack over the cab? If I raised my tray a touch, I could fit a split rim underneath. And the Goughs
water tank under there with it.
Cheers

Phil
Great minds think alike. Spare wheel under tray with
water tank and the spare tyre and tubes can just squeeze in rear locker on camper.
Just picked up under tray tool box and tow bar from wreckers. Now looking for bullbar s/hand.

Should be a few bullbars around. I think the 75series will fit the 79. A bit depends on what size winch you'd fit if you were to go that way. The ARB standard and Toyota bullbars can take the Warn 8000, and 9000lb
winches, but I think they may have issues with the 10000 and 12000, and you'd need something like the ARB Deluxe bar for that. I bought a Terrain Tamer 9500lb but yet to install it.
Cheers

Most of the ute bullbars at wreckers have damage but still hope to find one before we head to WA next year, New ARB winch bar $700 +
A lot of good stuff available from 4X4 wreckers!!
