Hi all
Went into Rays Outdoors today (
Adelaide) having 20% off. Anyway, want a couple of little fold up chairs for the rug rats. Bloke in there says not allowed to sell them in SA any more because a Parliamentarian's kid hurt his finger folding it up, so they were banned in SA. Dunno. Anyway, anyone know where to get them in SA? Nothing on Ebay at the moment. Or anyone got any their kids have grown out of? Willing to pay bottom dollar for them!

Yes very cute, not prices though, given you can buy a cheap adult one from Bunnings for less than $10, wouldnt expect to pay much more than that for a basic design, a little small to than the novelty ones, although the kids would love them.. How much ? thanks for the reply

That should read 'no prices though' meaning I want to know how much they are before I decide the prices aren't cute for something they will grow out of in a few years!

Yep. Adds credibility to the bloke's story about them being banned from sale in SA.

As a grandpa, I get a bit worried about little fingers around anything folding. Would you have room to just get them one each of those plastic "patio chairs" in Big W or K-Mart? They stack, are dead set lightweight and dirt cheap, and can be chucked in on top of the load pretty easy. Even a little plastic table so they can eat from a table at their height - or colour in etc.

Max,
had my own problems with those patio chairs... We have gone through I'd say at least a dozen of them just at home. Even the expensive ones have a ver short life expectancy with kids, the legs just keep snapping off them. I've noticed that the legs buckle as my kids(now 1x6yo and 2x4yo) shuffle their little bums around in them. Have had 3 fold up
camp chairs in the
camping box now for nearly 4 years and they are still going strong without any injuries to the kids. In fact they are impossible to fold up and trap fingers while they are being sat in. The little plastic table is however a great idea, the legs pull out for easy storage and as you say, are the right hight for eating, drawing and playing games.

Banned in SA? Surely this has to be a joke - no wonder it's having problems. Anyway enough of bashing the weak, try Target or Kmart.

Hmmm no idea of the legalities of the fold-ups in S.A. but we bought our nearly 5y.o. a fold-up 2 years ago and he uses it every day at home and it's still going strong. In reference to the reply above; in regards to kids safety it depends on adult education and supervision. Otherwise, let's ban everything.......

Bunnings currently have kids
camping chairs for $5. They are red, same as the larger fold up ones. I bought one for my 2 year old the other week - have given it to her and my six year old to play with for a week to see if it would bust LOL - they haven't busted it yet - and they give it a good going over!
