Hi All,

A challenging post!! Today Mt Dare, amidst misty rain, moved business from the old pub to the new red shed pub. Twas a feat to be admired or a strong case of sympathy, but the new pub opened before sunset.

Much red later I can announce it will remain open.

So for next year, May 4,5,6,7 willm be the opening of the pub. The 7th is a Territory holiday but the Sat and Sun wiil be major nights. Music yet to be arranged, radio star yet to be arranged, TV movie star yet to be arranged but otherwise under control.
Just be there, by plane, by chopper, by 4WD, bicycle or walking frame. Life is ABOUT BEING THERE.

Cheers
Ian @ Mt Dare

I think Al it would be more likely the white ants that will take over! They had pretty well achieved their objective when we were there in April.

Regards Ken.

You're probably right there Ken. The little buggers are very single minded hahahaha. All those wise words on the walls will be lost to posterity LOLOL Probably all for the best for some of them :))))

Great Ian,

I was there in 2000 with "old ghan 2000 group" and it was very cosy then with a crowd, will see how we go for quick trip next may.

Ah white ants dont I just love em, bring them on, always a challenge, with money involved somewhere, hahahahaha, they dont call me "PESTY" for nothing.

Cheers ,"from the termite specialist" LOL Pesty

No Way Gramps,

The white ants weren't granting any bloke, white , black or grindle title on what they have secured rights to. When the roof went off last October, the White Ants were heard shall we hold on, this was a 60 knot breeze, when the roof strained the White Ants, said let it go an the roof ended up between the pub anc the donga's.

Just another tale from the Naked Bush
Cheers

Hi all,

We were at Mt Dare last monday and was a week too early for the grand opening, but Dave showed us through the new pub. Very similar to a large american barn with a magnificent bar, its huge with 5 large tables. The old pub is going to be demolished, with photos taken of all the written letters and put around the walls in frames of the new pub.

Hey Ian

We missed the grand opening :-(. Oh well a few weeks too early.
Hope to have a beer with you, Dave and Mel next time in the new bar.
