Hi folks,
I'm hoping someone can give me advice about where I'd find a reliable reconditioned 2F long motor for my '84 FJ60.
I've started by contacting wreckers but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas.
Could someone also give me an idea of what I'd expect to pay for a whole motor?

The 3F costs $2250 in
Perth for along motor. That does not include removal or installation or swapping all the outside parts like manifolds ect.
Engine reconditioners like you to fit new or reconditioned radiator before they ll give you a warranty.$3-400
Unless the clutch is new it would be wise to fit one while its out.$350.
If you have aircon it will need to be discharged and refilled.
A new engine with high compression often cause the old battery to die if its not new.
Its also wise to have the maniflods planed true
I think a drive in drive out price would be around $4500 total.
A better option maybe to find a good used one if thats possible. It would need to have the compression checked as a minimum.

Not sure where you are but
Red Hill Engine Centre in
Brisbane was around the $1800.00 mark on exchange last time I did one.
Repco also have good deals.
