was wondering does the diognosis plug in my NA diesal 80 series actually do anything? or is it like all the other plugs etc hanging off the wiring loom with nothing to plug into?
Wouldnt have thought a diesal would have much to self diagnose

I would say it is just there for the petrol model.

I have the same thing in my car where a few plugs are there with nothing plugged into them, Thank god as just more expensive stuff to short out LOL

The diognosis plug is actually for fuel pump, is it on the passengers side closer to the fire wall, They are also on the 97/99 hilux's for the pump apparently, I could be wrong but that is what I was informed they are for as my mates 98 hilux has it and yet his pump looks exactly the same as my 89 lux ???. Good question Davoe - I found the same black rectangular box on mine whilst fitting the dual battery system. I wondered what the hell it could do considering that ther is nothing "electronic" on the 1HZ. Nothing in the gregory's book about it either.
