After using this forum for the past year and gaining much valuable information from the posts and the information pages, road reports, fuel prices etc etc I thought that it was about time that I paid my way.
So now I am a member, but I should have done it years ago.
‘cause someone pinched my screen name while I was not watching.
I have used Turist (unique spelling) on several forums for about 8 or 9 years, some of you may have seen me on the Bushtrackers Forum where I am the moderator and president of the BOG.
The name also pops up on the Diesel page, the caravanners Forum, the Codan pages, the VKS pages to name just a few.
The name is signwritten on the Bushtracker.
I have had the vehicle number plates for about 10 years. (see members profile) but unfortunately I have lost out with this group.
So that is the reason for the bit about being the original one.

Anyhow, enough griping, time to read the posts and see what is happening in the world of real vehicles, diesel powered four wheel drives.

Regards
Bob

Welcome to the clan Bob.

Don't stress too much about the name as I'm sure you will be called all sorts of things by the time the gang are through with you.

Enjoy

Good to see you as a member Bob. I know about people calling them selves after you. Might be flattery, but you don't want people associating their words with your thoughts do you?

I have had additional thoughs as to my birthday when others were wished a "Happy Birthday" Have to laugh about that one, but nice to think people think kindly of me.

Great to see you are a contributer though too, with the other forums.

Bob Down's mum Mrs Down , lives in a caravan on the Central Coast , so he might be a member of this Forum !

That is just a disgrace that someone has dared to use a name you had already made famous on another forum . When we find him , we will roll him in honey and stake him out on an ant bed .

Welcome Bob .

Willie .

Bob,

You said,

"Anyhow, enough griping, time to read the posts and see what is happening in the world of real vehicles, diesel powered four wheel drives."

There are many here who enjoy the sheer grunt of a petrol engine and the advantages they offer. We pay for our pleasure, but so be it; it is our choice.

Diesels are economical, that is why trucks use them. In the serious world of 4wd competition you'll find dirty big petrol V8's are the order of the day. Tune into 4wd TV on Channel 31.

Regards,

Jim.

Thanks all, the welcomes are very welcome and I will do my best not to stir up the petrol heads.
Duromax diesel with 360Hp, 881 Nm torque in standard form will stir them up enough by itself. :-)
