hi pud,
i have a 6.5 in a 62 series cruiser, it's a manual 5 speed, so that might change the numbers a bit.we can get a consistant 22mpg from the old girl.
on one trip out to
dalby we get as high as 25mpg.
had it replace the injector pump a couple of weeks ago, that hurt (the wallet ) but over all it has been a good thing.
she sounds great, has no computers and is easy enough to do all your home
services on.
johno.

fitting one to an Auto will cost you a packet more. When I got prices recently, the price went up nearly $5k for the Auto extras....
$23k all up and that was a "special"...

The final cost will depend on what auto you are fitting too, not sure whether the standard auto will handle the grunt either, is there and adaptor to fit the std transmission?

This was based on a 4.5 auto petrol GU.
My plan was buy one for $12-15k wholesale flog the 4.5 engine and gas setup to some Competition dude for $3-4k, then go with that as a basis.
But thinking of resale (mention V8 in 4-5 yrs time when fuel will be $50.00 a ltr), and the total cost of conversion which was $6-8k more than i thought was about right, I went with the TD6.
Brunswick have tried to do a 4.8 conversion, but gave up on tryin to get the triptonic box working with it!

Hi everyone, thanks for your replies. Had the 3ltre engine rebuilt in Feb but am not happy with it. Talked to Linquip, Brunswick and Marks adaptors and they reckon the 3ltre auto is good to convert. A complete kit from Brunswick is $16,500.00 right down to the accelerator pedal so thinking about selling the new 3 litre, hope to get about 4 to 5K.
Thanks
Pud

I had my 6.5 fitted in GU Patrol about 3 months ago. It's still "tight". I get about 18 mpg around town and 14 mpg towing a 2 tonne van.
