Gday Team
I just got a downunder fridge/freezer and I was very impressed with it when it was running on the main power inside the house it bought the fridge down from 25 degrees out of the box to 0 degrees in around 60 min. I have not tried it in the car yet but I noticed on the side it had the power rating and it said 6amps does that mean 6amps/hour? if so then I am a bit worried that it will kill my Aux battery in less than 10 hours...please tell me I am wrong. The deep cycle battery I have is a 75amp
Thanks

you are wrong. The fridge will cycle on and off to satisfy the thermostat, so while it may draw 6 amps when ruining it willl not be running continuously.

troll, i bought the 50l, have an 80a/h aux. battery & about 3/4 setting which keeps meat frozen & beers on top icy cold ,thats in the
pilbara, it goes for two days ,then i move on , havent tried any longer yet. they're a good set up , has yours got the danfoss 35 in it? i broke the plastic bit where you plug it in
& they fixed it up on warranty no problems. just be careful where you put it , so that doesnt happen to yours. cheers

where do you live russ, and do you use it as a freezer or just fridge?
It should cut out at some stage even when they are being used as a freezer, but maybe under some circumstances really hot ambient??? they make have to work a lot harder for longer?? But if you are down south (where it's cooler) yours should definately cycle on and off.
Trevor.

i was useing it in the gulf in the middle of summer cranked up about 80 % towards the freezer setting.....thought that might have something to do with it.....and re battery life....i am sure i got at least ten hrs of the 80 amphr auxillary b4 the fridge's low voltage cut out stopped it, necessitating the use of the generator after that....the fridge's ability to pull down cold amazed me.....i was constantly putting in warm beers and
water but could not affect the temp of food and drinks already in there
