I'm interested to know why you would not conduct your inquiries through the Exploroz website. The many points of view that may come your way could be of benefit to the wider web community?
Just for the record I have a DTronic fitted to my 04' manual Patrol GU 3.0 TD and have found it great. Bottom end torque and power has improved which makes it a much better vehicle for towing our 18' van.
My 5 cents worth.

Didnt mean to offend anyone. I have been a member for a while and was aware that it had been discussed before so I didnt want to fill the board with a bunch of silly questions. (on my part). I also have a 2004 GU towing a van. Do you remove it for service. If so is this a hard thing to do.

Hi Algee,
Don't get me wrong, there was no offence taken or even considered for that matter. It is just that the wider
forum takes a lot of interest in these matters and should have access to all comments made. There are certainly not any silly questions, there are only ones that require an answer which comes from the depth of knowledge available here.(not me, others)
Now down to your question. I leave
mine on all the time as I get a local 4WD mechanic to do all the servicing on my Patrol. But even when Nissan have had to take a look at the car for some reason, I have left it on without any problems. Recently, I had a warranty claim on the Turbo, which was subsequently replaced without a problem. In fact the service guy was the one who suggested that I fit one in the first place.
I'm told that they are fairly easy to remove but I have not had to do this so far. If I needed to know I would go back to ARB where it was fitted and ask them.
They seem to work quite
well with improving the dead spot in the early rev range.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Patrick

Hi Algee,
I have a Dtronic on my GU 3.0TD and reckon its great for the bottom end power increase. I used to take it out for servicing but after the service manager advised me to get one,
well I simply took his advice!!!
I now leave it in when being serviced but if, touch wood, I do ever have a problem I am sure it wouldn't be in the vehicle by the time it arrived at Nissan ;)
Cheers
Captain

Happy with the D-tronic - less turbo lag , but engine failed after about 20000km with dtronic - probably not related??? Who knows. I'll never know. Engine getting rebuilt at the moment - but it's still under the dash.

I have a D Tronic and it has made the vehicle perform like other posters in the thread. If I had any brains I wouldn't of wasted my money and bought a 'FUCTCH' They are cheaper and more reliable (no moving parts) and best of all prevent all 3.0l Patrols from blowing up by lowering the sulfer in the diesel it burns, lowering EGT as a result of EGR, ensuring correct fuel mixture as a result of fault MAF sensors....oh I could go on but everyone here knows all this but doesn't want to believe. Why are people so unkind?

Hi Algee,
Have a motsons ( same as d-tronic) on the 2.8 lt GU, best value for money item you could put on it in regards to increasing power and drivability in my opinion.
Avagoodn
