I want to instal an On/Off switch on the dash of my Prado to control the Reversing Sensor ( drives me Mad backing the caravan).
Spent most of this morning mucking around underneath and found that I can get a cable all the way from front to back INSIDE the chassis rail, has anyone struck problems running cable this way? Would vibration wear off the insulation? Are there any other problems that this run could cause?
Thank You.

Run the cable thru conduit to add extra protection.

Use twin sheath cable. As the Irish would say "To be sure to be sure."

Do you mean you want to switch off the Reversing Sensors when you have the Caravan in tow ?
If so then why not put the switch in the back - no lengthy wiring needed. When you hitch up the Van just open the rear door and flick the switch.

Thanks, good points, the more protection I use the better off I will be, ( I think my Dad said that once !!!! ).

eerfree, I wish my wife would agree with you - she says I spend way too much time thinking about how to solve a problem, rather than getting in there and starting :-)
Thanks for the feedback
