I went to get a 2 year NSW National park pass yesterday and almost fell out the car when the ranger told me the 2 year price is now $320 for an all park pass. I purchased my last one in October 2 years ago and paid $150. This equates to over 100% increase in 2 years..... CPI, I think is 14% per year. Can anybody tell me why it has increased that much in such a short time?
Also the entrance fee for Kosi has only increased by $5 making it only a 25% increase......
Now here's another observation. A one year pass only costs $145 so a 2 year should be cheaper. this equals $290...... I can only presume that fees are going to go up again by next year.
Can anybody enlighten me on this increase?

They sent a blurb with my renewal recently. As I only go to the snow for 1 weekend a year, I passed on the all park pass this time. As if you don't get skinned enough when you go skiiing...

The price increase is for the Snowy's pass. Entry into the Snowy's has gone up and it's going up again, hence why the 2 year is dearer. If you don't go to the snow very often just get a multipark one, For 2 years it's $115.

The price increases are due to their decision to re-open all tracks and to allow open fires at all camping grounds ;-)

This is so they can afford to pay for all the new gate works to keep us out. The price of steel has increased you know and they finally figured out that cutting down old growth trees to block tracks was being noticed.....mainly by us eco vandals who want to enjoy our parks, which by the way we OWN.......
AH geez its Nightshift again.....rant off....going to bed

Thankfully I have a 2620 postcode...and don't have to pay the hike for KNP...think about the other 'locals' in Canberra who have to pay the fully prices:-)

NSW Nat Parks sent a renewal notice for our parks pass recently and we completed the details and posted it back.

Got a phone call from them a few days later.
"You have asked for a seniors discount"
Yes, I said, we have had te senior discount for the past 5 years, since we were entitled to it.

Well you can't have it unless you send us proof of age, birth certificate etc.
This is a renewal I said, not a new application.
All this was done when we first got our discount, had to show the drivers licence.
Not good enough, have to do it again.

Another way the Nat parks have found to annoy people.
Told them to stick their parks, bloody things are getting like prison camps now with all the restrictions.
