G'day All
My 14 yo son and I are planning a trip to
Licola from Vermont South , via
Matlock then the High Plains and then back to Vermont Sth , most likely via Jamesion in the last week of Jan 2007. I am looking for some info as I like to Photograph old Historical relicks (Huts etc ) etc , and of course panorama's am looking for advice, guidance where to and not to go etc. I plan to take a week to do the trip so all knowledge would be appriciated. Also anyone else who will be up that way then we could hook up , safetey in numbers etc and of course share a couple of sherberts. !!!!. I have a very capabel but thirsty '97 Grand Cherokee so fuel availabity would also be appreciated , price not a concern, just convenience.Any help is appreciated.
Yours in advance
Geoff and Daniel .

Hi- Geoff
South of Jamieson at Kevington , on hills above and to west of town is a 4wd track which takes you to relics of the original township and
mine sites which has recently been re-discoverd.
Some of mines are a bit hairy , not any complete buildings left though just bits and footings etc.
Map is available - maybe Rooftop brand.

P.S. In Vermont south , wonder if you ever here our local motocross track , opposite new Bunnings ?

A bit out of the way, but make the effort to head to
Swifts Creek and the Cassilis old
mine... all the old machinery is still there plus some new stuff.
I'll have a page up on my site about it soon. Im like you love to travel to SEE things more than just go for a drive...
enjoy
