Good evening,

I know this is going to sound weird, but when driving in the last couple of weeks, just around town I can feel a vibrations through my accelerator only while driving on bumpy rough, tarin lines etc.
Its a V6 4runner. I havent put in the 2nd battery yet in the engine bay yet but I imaginw when it is fitted next couple of days the vibration will get worse.

Would it be steering related or suspension???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Why would the addition of another battery affect it?

First question - is the accelerator cable touching something?
2nd question - why do you think it would it get worse with a 2nd battery?
3rd question - checked the engine mounts lately, engine could be moving enough to pull on the cable?

Hi people and thanks for the responses.
It feels worse as on Saturday night finished and installed the battery tray on the v6 4runner and it just feels like the vibration is worse than b4 i put the battery in
May have nothing to do with one another but the extra weight may be cauing it even though it isnt that much
No mechanic just a thought.

Firstly you need to establish if the vibration is engine related or chassis related or being caused by something you've changed or installed, if not, vibrations can be caused by pulleys, belts, alternators , pumps or anything that hangs of the belt driven part of the engine. (Engine Side) and Chasss/ Suspension related vibrations can be felt through the floor often confusing with accelerator. It's a hard one, your dealer/mechanic may be able to help if all else fails.

Might sound stupid but has the accelerator cable fallen out of one of the clamps?
I had a 5VZ hilux in and the cable stretches right over the fan and it slipped out of one of the clamps and the cable was rattling on the fan. clipped it back in and presto no more vibration or rattling.
Lucky it didn't catch and rip it clean out.
Just a thought
