Hi folks,
Just asking a question for a mate of mine regarding more power to his 1998 GU 2.8 td. He was wondering if anyone has fitted either a Dtronic or Tunit to their 2.8 td & if it was worth the bucks. I suggested that maybe a K & N filter and/or upgrading to a 3" pipe might be the way to go, but i must admit after reading up on some of the forums regarding these units fitted to their 3.0 td i'm even quite interested in sticking one in my own 2000 3.0td. I spose at the end of the day it's a bit hard to let go of 1 & 1/3's of my morgage payment on a little plugin.......

Much appreciate any feedback on your thoughts or experiences!!!

Dan

I put on my 3.0 patrol dtronic, 23/4 exhaust and k&n.

I dont recomend the k&n too much dust goes through!!!!!

I recomend the exhaust and dtronic(more the dtronic) but if you can put both its better.

Leroy,

The same thread was a follow up to say Motson's still do it. Phone call by original poster confirmed this.

I have driven Pezza's 2.8 with the power up and it goes good.

Regards, Trevor.

There was another mob, read about it on here, so a search should turn it up. I have the same vehicle, and tossing up the options myself. Lpg fumigation is looking better now that the WA gov has announced an increase from $500 to $1000 cash rebate on fittin the lpg.

While more expensive at $3500, it does (reportedly) pay for itself in savings economy over about 100,000km, includes new exhaust (needs to be modified to fit the tank in, I'm sure you could get a performance enhancing one pet in at the same time for minimal $$), and gives you a long range tank.

So long range tank + exhaust + Dtronic is possibly about the same cost as the lpg, and gives (reportedly) similar results.

The chip can also be added as well as the LPG......

I'm not sure which way to go, but we have some options!

Cheers Andrew
