G,day all,
was talking to the Ranger in Cooktown this morning and he said that the COAST road via Starcke was negotiable, but slow. A winch may be required to travel SOUTH via Starcke to get out of Wakooka Creek and the Howick River. He came back via Kalpowar last Friday and the water in Barramundi Creek was still up to bonnet height and a snorkle may be necessary, but not boggy in the creek itself.
A bog hole between Barra Creek and Kalpowar is negotiable through the middle.
Several parties have been in and out of Bathurst Bay in the last few weeks. All these conditions will improve as things dry out of course.
Our party (4 vehicles) will be leaving Gladstone next Monday and probably travel up the coast road via Starcke next Wednesday for a couple of weeks in paradise. Will post a report when available.
Cheers,
Bros.
Work is the curse of the down and out bludger.
