Soory guys I can only go on my experience as a satisfied owner of a D40 diesel. Just get a bit bleep ty when people seem to knock them without it being based on personal experience.
There are good and bad cars in all makes - maybe i am lucky so far with
mine.
Derek - didn't mean to have a go at your professional ability - just having a bad night.
Donks - don't get so uptight - won't do your blood poressure any good!!

Wow , thats tough to swallow. Hopefully they attend to all the issues and you end up with a good vehicle. I have the new Hilux and no issues to date, perhaps I am lucky. I'm sure the new Navara is an excellent vehicle and everything apart from your convenience is restored.!
For the sake of Nissan's reputation keep us posted on the outcome of the corrections and your satisfaction with the end result.

Hi All,
Follow up on thursday visit for rear axle seal. Finaly fixed it without delay. But found out that motor has internal damage due to incorrect oil used. By another nissan dealer. $12000 Rebuild comming up that nissan won't cover even though still under warranty.
Go Toyota.

Just returned from the Kimberlies done
Gibb river Rd,Gunbarrel and the Tanami in Nissan D40 4lt petrol towing camper trailer ,Nissan had done 1000 k's when we left 11700 k's on return , no machanical problems at all . Door seals are the best I have seen only issues ,rear
suspension could do with a lift and tub lid (hard fibre glass type) Nissan accessory lets in far too much dust also anyone travelling on dirt needs to block up holes in front of tub to keep out dust why they produce a tub with so many holes I don't understand Mostyn

Mate of
mine had the same diff problem.
He was also subjected to Nissan dribble about the need for an expensive wire loom after an ARB driving light installation. He, in turn explained the laxative benefits of a mallee root to the individual.
Apart from that, he's happy with vehicle.
Regards
Kim

I'm not defending Nissan, but the first model of any vehicle always has faults that slip through the Quality Assurance checking or simply get overlooked in real-world applications.
This is the 1st model of a new vehicle for Nissan; and I am not surprised that some issues have been identified.
What I DO have a problem with is that Joe Pubic pays big dollars to be beta-testers of these new products.
I work too hard for my money to use it to support a R&D engineering lessons learnt campaign through the ndealer network.
Just my $0.02 worth
Cheers,
Dave
