Hi guys,

Thought that you might be interested in our travels in July – some great stories, trials and tribulations – some amazing country – and a bloody great time!! Also includes crocs, sharks, The Old Telegraph Track, breakdowns and recoveries, a great selection of Oz pubs, decent river crossings, big fish, the Great Barrier Reef and much more – if you’re planning a trip, it has recommendations for the next adventure, track files and fuel economies..

see Site Link if you have the time or inclination.

Thanks to all on this forum for advice leading up to the trip

If you don’t have time for the whole month, Highlights are at the bottom of the opening page..

It's a great trip even with an uneventful trip but yours sounds like a blast. Sorry to hear of the front pumpkin leaving it's gizzards up at Nolan's Brook (this creek was a favourite of mine even back in 96). I hope the planning for the next big adventure is as much fun as the planning stages of this one sounded.

I feel sure there is a few first timers planning on a cape experience that are packing a few extra goodies in case they have similar drama's to you guys. It really is not to be taken light hearted up there is it?

Thanks for bringing back some fond memories of that special trip we did up there 10yrs ago.

Safe travels, Trevor.

Just spoken to the web administrator - he thought he was under some sort of
"web attack" because he got so many hits in the space of five minutes.. - so
he turned it off.. !!

The good news is, he's aware now that it's above board, and will re-enable
the site within the next 30 minutes

Great work Ivan. I really enjoyed having a look through this....and will come back again when I have a bit more time. So much you can learn from others who have gone before, without losing the excitement of seeing it for yourself.

Thanks again.

Good job. I will be leaving Brissy this Sunday heading for Cairns. Leaving Cairns on the 18th to head north to Cape York.

We will be travelling in a 100 series TD towing a camper trailer and a Hilux TD.

Cant wait.

Why are you towing a camper trailer and a Hilux?? Might be easier to drive the Hilux instead ;-)

Ivan,
Thanks mate. I was late for work today. Sat down with a cuppa and started going through your link. 2 hours later......

Prior to selling my Pajero, I had a similar trip planned for 2007, but I don't think the wifes X-trail will make it. (ha ha ha) But after reading your story.....

I think it's time to see the bank manager and get some funds to start my next project. Did you get any video footage of those creek crossings ? Some of those photos were amazing.

Ivan,

Don't know what I'm more impressed with.........

The trip itself or the way the whole story has been collated and diarised.

Bloody fantastic mate. And the rest of your "crew".

What's the next trip in the trilogy.................

Thanks for story.
So glad I'm on broadband!!!

Garth

Great story Ivan.

Well told.

If you want to work out all your photos in date order, try www.breezesys.com Downloader Pro which can do all the renaming for you - if you have a PC that is.

You can do it in date order and still keep details of who's camera it was, if you want.

Ciao for now
Andrew envious.
