do all KK (or even campter trailers) do this in the wet??? if so im so glad we use a tent!! it was one of those $30k + looking ones with the windows.....plastic all over sorta thing

You just bored, or had a blue with the blokes who make them.

Didn't read that they had a blue with the manufacturer. Perhaps they just saw what they described and were wondering if that was a common trait of KK's?
Nah, you're right - definatley more sinister than that!
Cheers
Scoey.

Hi there
Laura, I would say he has either loaded up the camper incorrectly or the tow height between the 80 series and the camper was incorrect, Was it sitting level ?? Maybe he had a whole heap of weight eg additional
water containers sitting in the back of the camper??? incorrect tyre pressure??? maybe a bent axle ??if you have a look through the
forum here there is alot of additional weight added, all the usual stuff you take along with you, reason I say all this as our friends have an early model and he can sit all day at 100klm and it doesnt move in the way you have seen. If you were intending to buy one dont let this deter you as this is not normal, from the information I have read on this
forum I would say the KK would be one of the most popular. Regards Steve M

I don't think KK's have axles - I think they are all independently sprung.

So are formula one race cars, most rally cars and Commodores.
Do you have a valid point to make?

Eddy ... what's your problem? Do you have a valid point to make?
Mine is pretty clear ... if it is independently sprung it won't have a bent axle.

Andrew,
Pre-2006 Escape models will not have independant
suspension. Hope that answers your question without making a mountain out of a molehill.

Even independently sprung trailers can have a bent stub axle.
You were very strong in your opinion.
However lets not argue over the many possible responses to this post.

Then why pick every post to pieces Eddy if you don't want to argue?

KK? Are you sure?
Doesn't sound right ... plastic all over for one thing. Aren't they all powder coated?
Windows? ummm?
Where was this? In up and down country? How does a trailer slip and slide? Surely it just tracks where the vehicle goes - sure, it might slips and slide up and down the wheel ruts in sand perhaps that the tow vehicle or previous vehicles have left, but that is hardly a problem.
Ciao for now
Andrew who wonders where
Laura B is tonight.

Laura B,
Is the model your talking about the new
Kimberley Karavan.
All white and plasticy as you describe?
Curved nose cone on the front.
God I hope not. I'm waiting on
mine. September delivery.
And yes they have independant
suspension.
I've been told they towed superbly. Same running gear as all other KK flipover tent types.

A
Kimberley Karavan perhaps. One of the new quite high looking rigs, that does have windows? KK camper trailers tow dead straight @ 100ks no worries, and they dont have 'plastic all over' or windows.
Laura, we camped in tents for years and enjoyed every minute, but our
Kimberley Camper is totally awesome. A joy to own and use. Do not be deterred!

A dragging brake could also cause this, especially in the wet...

You seem to be describing the new Karavan, My flip over type did slip and slide on the
oodnadatta track a few weeks ago but only when my truck slid around due to the large volume of mud after the rain and looking in rear vision mirror so did all others who followed me when they opened the road, otherwise they are great to tow and follow your vehicle at any speed over all types of roads with no fuss. Why would you want to pay $50 to $60k for the Karavan type - tenting was great but once you get used to the flip over tent and inner spring mattress -
well say no more.

Hello big bo, how do you find the matrress. Did you have the foam one first ? I have a KK escape 2005 model and found the foam one too hard, so added the egg shell foam on top and it seems ok ( was too scabby to buy an innerspring and find out it wasn't much better )
As far as towing, Ive towed
mine at 120k/ph on dirt and it doesn't look like moving anywhere!
