I looked at getting and OME setup (2002 mazda dual cab) but for the $ ($2,200 - ARB Southside) i decided to go with other things first - Tyres, Bullbar & Snorkel. Car still made it to the cape unassisted. (though the guy with the patrol still got out the snatch at each creek crossing & mocked me - usually from the other side of the creek :))

Although I have to admit - the suspension was getting a little sad when I sold it (Nov 2005 - @ 90,000K).

hi Wazab,

Ive got a 2000 courier with 280 000kms, never had a spanner on it.
the OME kit is good and i think the torsion bars are a necessity, especially with the bar and winch.
When I first put the locker on the rear, never thought much of it, but I have to say its the best thing ever.

Hi Wazab,

Like Conman, I fitted OME leaf springs and shocks to the TD Bravo I had a few yrs back, and I added uprated torsion bars from West Coast Suspensions here in Perth. The upgrade transformed the ute. I travelled up thru the Pilbara and Kimberley with it and it was fine.

Mild susp. mods such as above, along with a decent set of tyres make these vehicles a quite capable offroader. The rear LSD is (was?) better than most at the time, and anyway no-one was making a rear locker for 'em back when I had mine.

Have a TD42T Patrol now, but still have a soft spot for the ole Bravo DC ute!! ;-)

Cheers
Red
