Any recommendations on a good caravan
park in Hervey Bay?
'Family friendly', is the main criteria.

My daughter and her partner live there, would have to be the worst
park I have ever seen, don't know how it stays open. That of course is just my opinion......:-)

There was a nice beachfront Caravan
Park my parents used to take us to when I was a bit younger. It was right on
the beach at Scarness. Sorry can't help any more than that!
Cheers
Scoey!

We stayed at the Happy Wanderer CP in July and found it to be a nice
park. No complaints and would stay there again.

Harry,
Being a local I would recommend one right down at the
boat harbour or the
shelly beach caravan
park on the Esplanade.
The way things are here at the moment make sure you lock valuables away and never leave a window open or your door unlocked.
Otherwise try the Burrum Heads caravan
park-not that far from Hervey Bay and nice and quiet.

As another local...
There are a few nice parks.
Australiana Village has a good name as does Happy Wanderer
The esplanade parks are nice (location location), but can be noisy.
There are two parks in Burrum Heads, one is better than the other, but I can't remember which one, (sorry)
The Big4 in Point Vernon is supposed to be pretty good too...
Best of luck

We stayed at Pt Vernon and found it excellent. Its
well way from main drag and associated problems.

Allthough its two years since we were there we found the Big4 at
Torquay to be quite ok--particularly the ensuite sites. On our recent foray to QLd heard other caravanners say it was ok as
well. I remember from years ago all those parks along the beachfront--looks much tidier nowdays.

Thanks all.
We'll probably go for one of the council parks, as children under 4 are free and those older are $4.
'The Happy Wanderer' looks great, but we have two three year olds. I'll be paying $6 each for them...as
well as $6 for the other two!
$16 a night makes a big difference!
Thanks for all the input.

The Beachfront Tourist Parks are great, I'd try
Torquay 1st then Scarness or Pialba. John was right about Coconut Grove its full of drpokicks and drunks.
