I am going to fit rear steel bar with twin wheel carriers, was all set to get Opposite Lock bar but then was told Kayamr is far better and worth extra money, OL bar not very strong.

I was also going to replace alloy bull bar and side steps for steel bull bar, side steps and rails. Have been advised to save the weight and stick with Alloy bar as vehicle will not handle well with all extra weight. Also that I am unlikely to need the winch. I am also upgrading suspension with 2" lift.

Would appreciate some comments and advice about this. Thanks.

$1500 is alot of extra money and from people Ive spoken to the O/L bar seems fine.Im currently looking for one for our 100 series and if the minister of finances allows will go the O/L rear bar.$3500 is a rip off if you ask me.
If your replacing your suspension anyway go for a steel bar.'Vehicle will not handle with a steel bars weight' thats a newie. We also have a genuine alloy bar(with a winch) and will be replacing it as soon as we decide to go home to Tassie(me other winch is there).

I replaced an alloy bar on my Gu with a steel bar, no suspension upgrade and no noticeable difference in handling. Maybe I'm just not very perceptive????

The alloy bar folded when it was visciously attacked by a 'roo.
