Waggs, they did not state anything. They went way beyond a simple answer, which was......
I have been told your "silent armor" have a 3ply sidewall, just like your very popular MTR. Is this true?
The answer......
Thank you for your enquiry.
The new Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor has Durawall (TM) Technology - which gives added sidewall reinforcement.
The Goodyear Wrangler MT/R is the only tyre currently in Goodyear Tyre's range of 4WD products to have a 3 ply sidewall.
The outstanding features of the Silent Armor are it's Armor Zone made with Dupont (TM) Kevlar (R) - Provides 5 times greater strength than steel and Quiet Zone made with Dupont Kevlar - dampens noise frequency peaks - helps reduce road noise for a smooth quiet ride.
Kind regards
Stan, I doubt the Silent Armor would be any better than BFG AT's or Cooper STT. Although the Cooper are a brand new product, which havn't been around long enough for more than one or two people to wear a set out, the BFG are proven for the purpose they have been manufactured for.
I get the feeling that people have been let down by the BFG AT's because they have put the tyre through a harsher life than they were designed for. I'm very happy with
mine, but I do not do desert trips, nor jibber roads or sharp rocks. my tyres get used for mainly coastal tracks, lots of sand, and a fair bit of highway driving. I'm happy with them and will buy them again.
Cheers,
Muzz
