Welcome Bob and I think it is pretty hard to offend most of us here.
Was there in mid June. We had one of the beach shelters. We put the CT beside it and our friends put their tent inside the shelter.

Make sure you do the low tide walk around the point. Start on the Western beach and go right around to the Eastern Beach. Some great rock formations, so take the camera.

We had dinner at the 'restaurant'. Very simple, and expensive for what it is ($25 for a roast), but the highlight was after dinner, the cook and dish washer came out. One played guitar and sand and the other played the didg. Fantastic

If you are going to the Cape, stop in for a couple of days at Middle Lagoon. Very different, but for camping, it is much better and half the price.

Tried fishing at the Cape, but no luck. At middle Lagoon we got into the Whiting off the beach and got some great mud crabs in the creek (walk along the beach south for about 1km to the creek.

Drop into the Beagle Bay community to see the Shell alter at the church.
Drop into Lombadina community. Terrific people. Craft centre, bakery (Mon, Wed, Fri) and jewellery maker (Gary who is also the Baker). Accommodation avail, but no camping.

One Arm Point is also worth a visit as long as you go to the Hatchery. A lovely young aboriginal lady spent an hour or so telling us about what they are doing there.

The road is a bit rough in parts, so take your time. It gets much better over the final 20KM or so.

It's not nice to mislead new people. Des Lexic is easily offended particularly if you mention ugliness or baldness. Other than that you are right.

Ditto to all of Norm's info Bob. It is also a great place for a joy flight to the Horizontal Waterfall. It was $ 100 cheaper for us from C L than it would have cost from Broome. Flights can be booked through reception at Kooljaman. They have a website www.kooljaman.com.au which explains all the accommodation options.

Hi TW, we are back (unfortunately). Cam back a couple of weeks early as the daughter has got a job in Japan and leaves later in the month. We wanted to get back to spend a couple of weeks with her before we go.

See post 36597 for a short trip report. If that doesn't cover things, let me know.

It was a great trip. Wish I was back there doing it all again.

and for what it's worth- you can camp at "Frank's Place" further up the Cape L. road from Koolj. - just a few sites right overlooking the sea, basic facilities but you feel like staying there for weeks- it's called Cambanan.

Hi Ya Bob,

I to was up at CL at the end of June. A great place & wish we could have spent more time there.

We did go on a boat tour to Sunday Island. An all day tour for $195 well worth it. The local guide is very good & knowledgable about the area & the days of old.

Don't miss the sunsets on the west beach. Absolutely magic.

Very jealous.
