Like a few others on this forum we headed up to the ATECO winch challenge the other weekend to see what it was all about. It was terrific, and a great day was had by the kids and us dads. In fact on the way home we reckoned we should have camped overnight but we'll do that next year. I have never witnessed so such organisation around safety of both participants and spectators...it was a real credit to the organisers that they achieved this without limiting what we were able to see.

The sponsors, ATECO put a winch up as a prize, a Tabor 9000. Usual form to be filled out, dropped off in the bucket in the food tent and as you do, not to be given another thought. If it hadn't been for my mate filling out my form as I managed the barby I would probably have forgotten all about it. My mate said I was in with 2 chances cos it'd look silly on the front of his HSV...what a mate!

Anyway I got a call yesterday from a nice chap at ATECO to tell me I had won. Gotta tell you I was stoked. In fact I am still stoked..... I just had to share it with someone!!

Just had a look Leigh, the Tabor is the Old Warn Magnum 9000 winch.

Better than a poke in eye with a blunt stick.

Nice. Some people have all the luck. Wonder if it was your mates entry or yours??? you may owe him big time. hehehe.

Now all you need is the dual batts, shackles gloves, trunk protector, winch extension ect ect. It may cost you a fortune yet hahahaha.

Enjoy, you lucky thing.
Trevor.

Thank you all. Yes I actually won on my ticket and not my mates. Fairy god mother's wand has been out and I have converted it to a Warn 9000 for a small consideration. Fit it up tomorrow night and hope no rat knocks it off!! Cheers
