Hi All,
I have had an offer to buy a Magellan 3000 GPS (definately 3000). I have no idea how old etc. Wants $120 for it. Is anyone out there familiar with these units. Size is probably 6/7 inches long by about 2 inches wide.
Cheers
Howard.

I think the 3000 series is a marine GPS so it's opitimised for a Marine application. Wouldn't be much chop for 4WD applications I wouldn't think, I also think that this is so old and technology has improved so much since 1996, that you'd be better of spending a little more and getting something better.

Hello - would be tempted to say dont bother - but depends what you plan on using it for and what accessorioes come with it - it is a discontinued model so if it doesnt come with what I consider to be fairly important gear (12 Volt power cord for car and a PC cable plus maybe a mounting bracket) I wouldnt touch it. You will find it difficult to get accessories for plus if it breaks it is very likely that it will not be possible to repair. Also price is too much - maybe $80 max if it has all gear (IMHO).
Cheers
