Does anyone have a design for shade cloth walls as an extension to a camper trailer annex? I am thinking of making one as it will be light weight and will keep out the bigger creepy crawlies!!!!!

Gees Chocky,
If you're desperate, buy 15m ? of shade cloth/mossie net, pin it to your needs, mark the critical bits with 'white out', and offer it to a seamstress.
. I'd love to be frivilous with this, but enough!
Depends on your needs /. Mossie netting isn't cheap, but crikey it's worth it.
Visit 'our site' .It may inspire.
. teach.

Flappa,

Looks good, did you use zips to join onto your original annex or someother fixture?

I had the local upholster make up our walls with 90% shadecloth. Cost about $250 for the front & one end wall. The other end is solid canvas.
The %90 shadecloth keeps out mossies but not sand flys. Lets in air but acts as a wind break in bad weather.
Clips onto the annexe with annexe clips. Takes about 5 mins to clip on, while the billy is boiling.
Added advantage is additional privacy needed in some camp grounds.

I have seen them pre-made for Jayco campers and caravans at the local upholsterer. Shouldn't be difficult.

We made 'em ourselves.

Sitting in the CV park for a week with the afternoon sun burning our retinas.

Up the hardware shop by a pile of shade cloth. We hemed one edge and included some blue poly tarp to stiffen the hem and then put eylets in to match the poles. Then we dropped it over the top and clipped it to the guy ropes so it is angled out at the bottom. Cut it to shape and allow a bit extra for the hem. Once again include the polytarp to stiffen things up a bit, do the same on the bottom edge. Couple of eyelets and attach some shock cord which I hook onto the tent pegs.

Keeps out hot afternoon sun, most of the mozzies and affords some extra privacy.

We did get accused of being somewhat anti-social, there is a downside to everything. By being at the same angle as the guy ropes it gives us a fair bit more room than a vertical wall. Wish I had some pics to show you.
