Having serious problems with my 2H engine starting system. It is burning out the fusible link for the glow plug system. The insulator on the small bar that connects to the longer heater bar is in poor condition. Was wondering if a short here would cause the fusible link to burn out.

Could be.
Had a similar proble on my paj last year.
Could be a glow plug shorting.
Ended up last year doing some TLC on the whole glow plug system and carefully checking all connections right from the battery (the main bus bar connection was pretty poor) and checking all of the glow plugs. Had to replace two.

Hi
Just had the same issue with my Hilux, the local mechanic had the wire around the wrong way with the insulator, blew the 80 amp fuse for the glow plugs. Swapped the wire around, hey presto!!
Also replaced the glow plugs, as 2 of them were shot.
Regards,
Michael
