Gday all,
Brand new Prado had it's first service/check up on Saturday. I was very happy with the service given and the attention to issues i brought up (roo bar touching body panel). When i enquired about wiring looms for spot lights the service guy bent over backwards to help out. Gave me the IPF wiring loom kit (including relay & switch), instruction paper and even advised me that the vehicle is a negative switch configuration and which wire to splice into !!! Thanks go to the Toyota dealership crew (
Pilbara Motor Group) in
Karratha for there great support.
Cheers and cold beers.

Hi
Pilbara
good luck to you - pity I can't say the same thing for their brothers in
Port Hedland. When I asked them to work on a hole in the sub fuel
tank on my Prado the Service manager told me to "go down to Repco and get some metal
putty and work that into the hole, that should get you home"!! (Home is Port Stephens, North of
Newcastle)

I copped the same level of service from
Karratha Toyota last time I was there . It sounds like the change of name and ownership has done some good things for them.
I dont know if the Port one will ever change so long as BHP is a customer of theirs though...

i was more than happy for someone to tell me to use a metal
putty on my fuel
tank. that was 3 years ago and still going strong.
I also have been through
Port Hedland and the Toyota dealer was unable to service my cruiser, but they were able to get me booked in at another service center in town, for that i thank them....

Glad to here you are happy with the service and they actually tried to help you best they could. Doesn't happen that often especially when there is a warranty issue although I must admitt I think Toyota has a better reputation in general then Nissan when it comes to warranty issues. But there is good and bad between them all and I think some of it has to do with us as
well as a customer, go in there on the defensive and already you put them off side and they dont want to be too helpful, but if its some thing that has been a continual warranty problem then its automatic for us to be angry prior to walking in the door. It good to see you had a good outcome. Regards Steve M

Good Toyota service centers are hard to find these days. You might be in luck
with this one.

Bendigo Toyota replaced the rear diff in my Prado under warranty (they had to chase the parts), but done it with a smile and minimum delay.
