The government just announced a $2,000.00 subsidy to convert your vehicle to LPG.
I reckon that just put the conversion price up by about $1,000.00

Yeah then the price of LPG will suddenly rise to more than petrol.

Yep and they have introduced and have been increasing the excise on Gas for a couple of years and will continue until it reaches petroleum levels. (???)
Where is the gain.

Excise wont be starting till 2011, I can see this being the end of cheap lpg. I wonder how long you will have to wait to get a conversion done, bit of a change from a few years ago with little interest in lpg vehicles.

I wonder if it applies to the Diesel/Gas injections system for oilers?
And the excise on gas is only going up the 12.5 cents per litre so it is about a third of the ecxcise on petrol. thats their stated intention anyhow

It concerns me about doing a gas conversion to just any petrol motor
Ford released a falcon not so long ago, factory fitted gas, but the engine had been modified to suit.

The Government will give us $2,000 towards the gas convertion just because they feel sorry and try to make our lives better.........and pigs can fly.
So where is the catch? What is the real reason?

my guess is that they know there is a lot of people pretty upset with the petrol prices and with the decision made for Howy to go for another term he is trying to butter us up. After the election all back to normal and gas prices will go trough the roof so they can recover the money. Smart move, something like a loan to keep us happy but only for the time needed.
And we people will take the bait plus what would plan B look like.........Beazley ???lol

Oh you're a lot of cynics. You just don't realize that your Govt LOVES you and worries about your problems.
Who mentioned the big oil companies ? Nothing to do with the Govt, read our lips.
Give you 2 grand only to take back 10 ? What a mob of whingers.
"We won't mandate ethanol because we believe in the Australian public having free choice" Now there ya go.....we have free choice in this country. You're free to starve, nothing to do with the Govt. As long as you can get to the polling booth then we're still the lucky country, right ?
Can't afford the fuel ?
Well anyone who buys a motor vehicle can obviously afford the fuel. Anyway we know exactly what you can afford, its called a census. Don't come the raw prawn with my Govt, mate.
Oi ! You up the back, get yer hand DOWN. Would the member for bullbars sit down !!

Anyone know if there is an installer in NSW for diesel-gas?
I've seen the websites in VIC, SA and WA.
Just curious :-)
