I wonder if I can get the rebate if I convert my Diesel Cruiser to Diesel / Gas?? In the AusIndustry link there is no suggestion that you cant... For a 20% power and economy increase it might be worth looking at.

My question too.

I dont think dieselgas will be excluded, I think its not included as its not such a wide spread conversion.

The scheme is designed to induce the use of lpg as an alternative fuel, so shouldnt really be excluded to diesel.

I think the govt would be very silly to think that if they exclude diesels that we will all run out n buy petrol/lpg vehicles.

I have asked dieselgas australia for an answer on this one, will post here if I get an answer.
Anyone else's follow up info I'm sure will be appreciated also.

hmmmm, think we need a bit more info on this, for example I live in W.A. we already get a gov' grant of $1000.00 does this mean we'd get $3000.00 all up ? so I have a 3Lt T/D Prado{ 2002 } the cost of which would be $3500.00 does that mean I'd only pay $500.00 ? cant see Johnny boy helping a mere pleb like me to that extent, can anyone shed a bit more light on this ?
thanks in advance,
Dave

That seems to be what the link someone posted above is saying - you get the $2000 + the WA grant.

There must be a catch somewhere, but I can't find it...

There is also the popularity stakes here, and the fact an election will be coming at some point.

'What a great guy Johnny was converting my ......."

It seems fairly straight laced, and fair dinkum, just not sure if dieselgas will be included.

Regardless of rules, I also am certain that we will see LPG cost rise accordingly.

You will prob still be in front though.

Personally its not on the program for me for at least a year yet as I have a novated lease vehicle, once its out the lease I will be looking to get it done.

It came in on the 14th. Is only available to non commercial vehicles under 3.5 tonne. Each person can only clain the $2000 once every 3 years. It is going to last for 8 years. Not availble on leased cars. You lust pay for your conversion and fill in the form and little johnnie will send you a cheque.
Now sit back and watch the price of gas go up.
