Yeah,
I agree with Wizard, stick with the
well known brands like engel and the other one waeco as its only the price thats attractive.

Also seen the Who Flung Lee brand at Supercheap, wouldn't touch em whatsoever. I have a saying for when I'm selling quality, and I'm sure Engel and Waeco use this one too...
"I'd rather apologise ONCE for the price, than a HUNDRED times for the quality"

BWS has the 50L Waeco on special at the moment for around $995 including an insulated cover. Don't know if that is good, but it sounds OK. Less than $300 more than an unknown brand and a cover tossed in.

Alright. The secret is out. I buy a lot more wine than I do boating stuff.
Have to remember; BCF for fridge. BWS for wine.

if its can truely freeze it wont matter which 12v compressor it has
its probably the rest of the quality ones needs to be wary of

Old Colliwobble Man,
K Mart also sell this fridge for about $700. Looks a bit tacky, but who cares what it looks like? It is a big bugger, sure looks to hold more than other friges that profess to be 50 litres.
Crazie has trialled one as a prospective product for sale. I believe it worked like a charm.
Other than that, I have NFI.
Regards,
Jim.

I had a bit of a look at these before I bought the Waeco. Instead of the 80l waeco I wanted 2 chinese cheapies, one for freezer, one for fridge. I couldn't come to spend $700.00 on something unknown. I wanted 2 of the $299,00 jobbies (on special) from supercrap. I can wear that sort of loss if it dies, but Jeff M had a good experience for the warranty replacement for his, so they may be OK?
My only regret with the bigger waeco than the 2 cheapies is the cost, and I won't be risking the waeco in the boat, wheras the cheap one would have been used everywhere.
From memory, the 52l Kmart $700.00 one had a mitsubishi compressor, but I looked at a lot of fridges that week and may be wrong.
Cheers Andrew
