Hi All
My girlfriend owns a BJ42,1984, 5 spd, Diesel,P.S, with 270K on the clock ( not a LX). the car is original as, even still has the split rims on it. Does have newer
suspension, giving it a little bit more height, (1 inch). She purchased it off the original owner ( with original sales receipt), 10 months ago. From a older gentleman, who almost shed a tear ( with the wife looking hard eyed at him) when he sold it Engine is great, and should run for another 100k, no oil leaks or anything. The only new things are a steering wheel and stereo. No rust, 6 month reg i was just wondering how much it might be worth??
And if anyone is interested??
Or should i sell my 80 series diesel and buy it?? What to do!!!!!!!!???????

thats a secret,
BUT i assure you we paid good money for it, didnt get it for a steal because the guy knew car was in VGC, and that he was the first and only owner, and I was willing to pay the money because i know a expensive car in good nick is ALWAYS cheaper than a cheap car in crap nick . I know this because i use to own a turbo rotary!!!Arr those when the days when power was immediate not 20 seconds later ( I own a 1HZ 80.)

I have noticed that redbook does not take into account desirability. It assumes car is X old therefore has does X km's and cost X when new and therefore equals XXX. It does not assume car is in perfect condition only average, which means nothing. Redbook is a bit of a joke really. You find a BJ42 in perfect condition for 2.5k to 5K.
What a joke! For 2.5k you get a beat up piece of crap that needs 10K poured into it!
Bloody Redbook, dont know why every one refers to them so much.
Sorry im ranting, but never really liked redbook!!

Hi,
I would say the Redbook range will be close to the money.
My son has a fair bit of experience with 40 series vehicles as he has purchased several and done them up etc.
You may do a bit better but I wouldn't expect a whole lot more.
Have a good one.

5 maybe 6k (max) for a really good original one - possibly more for a tarted up one with all the go fast bits.
Depends if you find someone who really wants one...
